Music Blog - Throwback to Chris de Burgh at Brockville Arts Centre - Chris played many fan favourites like “Don’t Pay The Ferry Man”, and “Lady In Red” and shared stories about his musical journey and inspirations, and life growing up in a castle in Ireland. He performed a selection from across his career many he explained as stories and perspectives rather than personal experiences. He perform a couple more intimate songs as well like the one of his family traveling and seeing dolphins jumping in the water. It’s super interested seeing many different musicians and how they approach songwriting.
When I hear Chris de Burgh’s music I vividly picture the tales that unfold in the lyrics like “Spaceman Came Traveling Down” and his voicing of instruments giving almost a medieval chamber music charm, is a unique blend with the popular synthesizers of the time. My absolute favourite moments where when Chris played the piano, something changed in his emotion and with extremely effortlessness and confidence he possessed was inspirational as he let the audience know that he cannot read music but that it’s all in his head. Chris played tribute to some of his favourite songwriters tunes like ‘Let It Be’ by The Beatles, and ‘Africa’ by Toto (which really got the audience up dancing).

Introducing Sun Temple Formed by members Ben MacDonald (lead guitar) and Riley Rochon "Roach" (bass) of the disbanded group Arcade Zero, the two brought in Jack (vocals) and Ethan (drums). The lineup was complete when Ben met Trenten Service (guitar) through a music club on Discord. The Band is known for play classic hard rock and metal covers like Alice in Chains ‘Man in the box’, Metallica’s ‘Seek and Destroy’ and Judas Priest’s ‘Painkiller’ along with their heavy original tunes. Sun Temple have been recording originals at Wolf Lake Studios, and are set to release their debut EP this year, featuring 5 songs including ‘Nothing’s Wrong’, ‘Sicker’ and ’Breach’. Music Blog - 1000 Islands Regatta Makes Waves: Outstanding Local Acts Join 2026 Festival Line-up - Arthritik DOG is celebrating its 30th Anniversary this year joining the regatta entertainment roster with two new members. Forming in ‘96 the band performed alongside Barstool Prophets in ‘98 on the Riverfest stage, and Jagged Little Pills in ‘97. Original member Jeff Hutt (Guitar) and Scott Primeau (Vocals) will be joined by Primeau’s twin sons Caleb (Bass), Zach (Drums) taking the place of original members Pete Fodey and Brian Collins. Arthritik DOG have written original songs over the years including ‘Feel Me Tonight’, ‘Give it away’ and ‘Wasted Time’. Music Blog - 1000 Islands Regatta Makes Waves: Outstanding Local Acts Join 2026 Festival Line-up - Zipperbelly are back onto the scene, writing and recording new material just in to hit the spotlight at 1000 Islands Regatta. Popular in the 90’s Zipperbelly represents the area as a celebrate band known for their unique cover of ‘You Are My Sunshine’, and music video for “Ebb” shot in Kingston Ontario for ‘The Show’. The band consists of Mark Bergman (vocals, guitar), Chris Hale (guitar, vocals), Matt Mulvihill (bass, vocals) and Randy Orr (drums, vocals). This reunion comes as a shock to the many fans, with the band teasing studio photos, and now with a concert date Zipperbelly are on the rise back to local legend status with first majour band performance in years.

The band used to frequent venues like The Keystorm Pub, the band have now found the perfect opportunity to satisfy their ever growing fanbase by performing the regatta with The Watchen, and Zipperbelly. The band are described as old-school, guitar focused rock n’ roll with frontman Tom Savage’s “socially conscious worldview” spilling into the lyricism. Dead Root Revival’s debut album ‘The Controller's Exam’ The Kingson, Ontario base quartet features prominent keys by Tony Silvestri, fuzzy guitars by Tom Savage, groovy baselines by Richard Piche, and crashing drums by Bonz Bowering.
