The Harvest Gallery Showcase
Featuring performance by Claude Munson, James King, & Sammy Hayes!
Enjoy Cozy and Whimsical vibes The Harvest Gallery Showcase, at Medium Effort on Saturday October 24th featuring inspiring performances by Established Ottawa-based independent musician Claude Munson, local favourite James King, and emerging songwriter Sammy Hayes!
Claude Munson
Ottawa's Claude Munson writes uninhibited impressionist-folk. Whether drenched in crystalline synths or stripped bare, Munson's songs tackle modern life and love with radical intimacy. His soaring, gritty tenor paints vivid pictures of hard promises and ecstatic joys: atmospheric narratives that unfold, Rorschach-like.
Munson’s notable performances include drawing audiences to local venues like Red Bird, Irene’s, festival features at Roots2Rise, and opening the RBC Stage at Ottawa Bluesfest in 2025.
James King
is a singer/songwriter, and all around performer from North Augusta, ON. His style has been described as “Rock n Roll Troubadour” and due to his unique vocal sound, which emulates many of the classic rock vocalists of the 70s, he has performed his original music across Canada, and NYC. While living in Toronto, His band “James King & the Midnight Hours” held a year-long residency at the Amsterdam Bicycle Club, before branching out to play many of the famous rock venues throughout the city. In 2018 they made the National Top 100 in CBC’s Searchlight Contest, out of 2,072 artists from across Canada. In 2020, the band recorded their full length debut album Moonchild (2022) with Juno nominated producer Alex Gamble at Union Sound. Since returning home to the Brockville area in 2021, James has become a fan favourite, performing solo at notable venues all over the countryside.
Sammy Hayes
Sammy Hayes writes sweet song with sharp edges, and a healthy amount of oversharing. Sammy has performed at notable Ottawa venues like Rainbow Bistro, Art House Cafe, and is a strong presence community performing recently at ‘The Rustic Canvas Gala’ a benefit event for CHEO. Sammy creativity extends to the artistic realm creating one of a kind pieces including custom skate decks @the.dirtyworkbench which have been featured in Perch Magazine.
