Jazz Appreciation Month Weekly Concerts at local library
The Upper Canada Musicians and the Brockville Public Library join forces to present ‘Jazz Appreciation Month’ at the Library.
All of the shows are sponsored by the Music Performance Trust Fund.
The team are set to showcase live local music with 4 great shows happening throughout the Month of April. All of the concerts will take place from 1pm -2pm at the Brockville Public Library and are free of charge for the public.

April 4th - The Matthew O'Halloran Quartette
April 11th - Sue Baker and The Rhythm Makers
April 18th - The Great Music Guys
April 25th - The Saxobelles

McGill University Masters student Matthew O’Halloran returns to Brockville for an quartette performance on Sunday April 4th from 1-2PM.
O’Halloran enjoys playing many genres of music in a variety of performance settings, including concerts, restaurants, weddings, private events, and more. The Matthew O'Halloran Quintet performed original music and jazz standards at the Toronto Undergraduate Jazz Festival (TUJF) in 2024 and was named "Band of the Year." - via MOHmusic.ca
Matthew plays to the crowd with recognizable covers, and jaw dropping originals that will keep listeners on their toes (and in their seats). From classics, to soft romantic ballads, to upbeat melodies, the audience can expect an excitingly dynamic performance in full swing.
Sue Baker and The Rhythm Makers will be the featured performers on Sunday April 11th from 1-2PM.
The local 5-Piece band incorporates Jazz, Blues and R&B styles into their repertoire. Known for performances as clubs, corporate and private events, Sue Baker and The Rhythm Makers will have you up dancing in no time.

Well known in the Brockville music scene, vocalists and Chris Coyea and Alex Fleuriau Chateau join in on Jazz Appreciation month on Sunday April 18th from 1-2PM with The Great Music Guys!
The Great Music Guys have performed for crowds at Kinsmen Amphitheatre, Arts Hub Brockville, and many big stages in the area, make sure to give them a warm welcome as they return for this years Jazz Appreciation celebration!
Kingson-based 4-piece band Saxobelles will be bringing their saxophones to Brockville Public Library on Sunday April 25th from 1-2PM for the finale show of the series.
”The Saxobelles are a funky alternative to a string quartet. Playing music ranging from pop to classical to jazz, the Saxobelles are all experienced big band musicians who have branched out to offer a variety of musical genres.” - via KingstonLive
The quartet consists of Brooke Woboditsch (Soprano Saxophone), Caitlin Barton (Alto Saxophone), Suzanne Owen - (Tenor Saxophone), and Andrea Lawn (Baritone Saxophone).
