Brockville Concert Association Presents Juno-Nominated Ensemble Caprice & Andrew Balfour ‘National Indigenous Peoples Day’ Collaboration on Sunday June 21 at Brockville Arts Centre.

“Join the Montreal-based baroque group Ensemble Caprice and an extended group of performers, including throat singer Nina Segalowitz, for an unforgettable mashup of old and new in celebration of National Indigenous Peoples Day.

The renowned Ensemble Caprice were recognized at Junos for their talents with a 2026 nomination for “Classical Album of The Year (Small Ensemble)”, for “Vivaladi: The Four Nations (Reconstructed)” released in 2025.

Ensemble Caprice' have a mission to “inject new life into baroque music.” The musicians have extensively toured across the globe with performances “in dozens of countries on four continents” taking part as featured guest ensemble at “many prestigious festivals, including the Lufthansa Festival of Baroque Music in London” and more - via EC website

Andrew Balfour provides innovation in his ever growing talents, from composer, conductor, singer, and sound designer. Balfour has built up a repertoire of choral, instrumental, electro-acoustic, and orchestra work with notable works including Take the Indian, Empire Étrange: The Death of Louis Riel, Bawajigaywin, andManitou Sky. Balfour provides a hauntingly beautiful blend of influences in songs like “Four Directions” on the album Nagamo. Balfour was commissioned by LʼAtelier Lyrique de l’Opéra de Montréal and Highlands Opera Workshop to create Mishaboozʼs Realm, an indigenous opera. - Info via NAC website
