Newly formed Music Coalition unveil April event “1000 Islands Song Festival Preview Week”
Together 1000 Islands House Concerts led by Amanda Keeley and Antidote Artists manager Patch Twaddle have formed “1000 Islands Music Coalition” a organization that aims to “bring back a much desired music festival to the 1000 Islands region” in September. The collective are hosting their first look at the festival with a Preview Week event taking place from April 15-19, 2026 across venues in Downtown Brockville.
1000 Islands Song Festival Preview Week kicks off with a house show on Wednesday April 15th with Award-winning bilingual Nova Scotia artist Kristen Martell and award-winning Gananoque local Kevin Head performing at 1000 Islands House Concerts from 7:00-9:30PM. Local artists are encouraged to showcase their own talents with a festival edition of Live From The Mic “Community Jam” on Thursday April 16th starting at 7:00PM. The jam will take place in its regular location, free of charge, however participants must pre-register to guarantee their slot. Music fans are welcome to observe the “Living Room Session: Open House Jam” at the downtown Brockville location, or from the comfort of their own homes via live stream. Saturday April 18th brings a “Nashville-style” Songwriters in the Round to Arts Hub Brockville. The concert will feature “Songs and stories as shared by four veteran and up-and-coming artists” Hosted by Jim Bryson and featuring Amanda Keeley, OK Naledi, and Matt Bazinet from 6:30PM - 9:30PM. Sunday April 19th learn new skills, and to limit your distractions with the “Songwriters Retreat & Collaborative Workshop” Hosted by wellness facilitator and local singer-songwriter Amanda Keeley, and facilitated by award-winning artist and producer Jim Bryson from 9:30AM - 4:30PM, participants are provided expert advice, wellness practices, and collaborative writing opportunities in a supportive and inspiring environment.
