Brockville Gallery Showcase welcomes the New Moon on May 16!
We are welcoming the new moon with a convergence of live music & art on Saturday May 16th at Medium Effort in Downtown Brockville.
The evening promises soulful serenades, beautiful bluegrass harmonies, and thoughtful lyricism from talented South Eastern Ontario indie musicians; Vicki Brittle, The Family Name, & Jarred Sine, on Medium Efforts “Speak-easy” style stage.
Brockville-based singer-songwriter Jarred Sine will be opening the night. Jarred’s music bridges the gap between raw Americana storytelling and high energy Power Pop hooks. Known for an aggressive, "all-in" acoustic style, Sine delivers introspective lyrics that don't shy away from the grittier corners of the human experience. Whether channeling the drive of Roots Rock or the intimacy of a folk ballad, his music is defined by an uncompromising authenticity—a trait front and center on his debut EP, As Long As I Breathe.

The Family Name will be back in Brockville to share their modern bluegrass blend. With harmonies as tight as their sibling bond, The Family Name blends the sounds they grew up with into a fresh mix of modern folk, bluegrass, and country. Their music carries a playful push-and-pull—Ben leans into newgrass and old-timey roots, while Jacob brings a flair for indie-folk and classic country. The result? A dynamic sound layered with heartfelt lyrics, hope, and hard-earned wisdom, all delivered with brotherly charm and just the right amount of tension.

Headlining the evening is Vicki Brittle, a Folk/Rock Singer-songwriter from The Ottawa Valley known for her distinct, unforgettable vocals and acoustic melodies that weave through reflective lyricism. Often referred to as an “old soul”, Brittle brings a memorable energy and presence to the stage. Playing festivals like Bluesfest, Festival of Small Halls, Mariposa Emerging Artist Showcase and opening the stage for artists like Sass Jordan, Logan Staats, Jon Bryant and many more, Brittle is proving to be one to watch in the Canadian folk music scene.
